Dallas Jenkins, series creator of “The Chosen,” shares that this new season is bigger and better than any that have come before.

But he still maintains that the upcoming fifth season of “The Chosen” hasn’t lost any of the original charm that’s captured viewers’ hearts.

Members of “The Chosen” cast and crew gathered in Red Oak, Texas, last week for the world premiere of “The Chosen: Last Supper.”

From the red carpet, cast and crew spoke with Our Sunday Visitor about their thoughts on the upcoming season and their experiences.

“This is Holy Week and it’s got some of the biggest Bible moments,” Jenkins said. Emphasizing the show’s commitment to creativity and biblical accuracy, Jenkins discusses the tension inherent in continuing to develop the characters the show has introduced so far. “In the Last Supper Jesus gives us a lot of truth bombs, but we don’t want to make it sound like he’s giving a speech to a Rotary Club.”

Audiences will see Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the cleansing of the temple, the Last Supper and the betrayal of Judas, among other scenes, Jenkins told Our Sunday Visitor.

When will ‘The Chosen’ Season 5 be released?

“The Chosen” Season 5 will be theatrically released beginning on March 28.

All episodes of the fifth season will be released exclusively in theaters, like previous seasons of “The Chosen.” Subsequently, they will launch on streaming platforms, but no official dates have yet been announced.

Below are the official theatrical release dates for “The Chosen” Season 5 in the United States and Canada:

Part 1, Episodes 1-2: March 28
Part 2, Episodes 3-5: April 4
Part 3, Episodes 6-8: April 11

The fifth season will be available in full in theaters on Palm Sunday (April 13) and Easter weekend (April 19-20).

Sharing his hope for his audience, Jenkins said, “Let’s make sure that we don’t make the mistakes that the enemies of Jesus made 2,000 years ago.” Cautioning against the temptation to dismiss what we don’t fully understand from Christ’s teachings, Jenkins exhorted, “Let’s follow in the footsteps of his followers, who, despite the fact that they don’t always understand everything, they still trusted, they were faithful.
